Rise of the Tomb Raider Anticipated PlayStation 4 Pro Patch

Crystal Dynamic’s Latest installation in its Tomb Raider remake series was always a graphically stunning game on all fronts. However, fans are due for a treat when the new installation in the PlayStation series is released on November 10th.

Rise of the Tomb Raider shall be receiving a new patch for the PlayStation Pro, this patch will be adding three new modes to the game. All three modes will be related to game graphics & performance; Players will be allowed to select a mode upon starting the game up.

For a lot of people, the lack of 60 FPS gaming on consoles is painful to endure, the original release of Rise of the Tomb Raider was clocked most of the time sitting between 20 & 30 FPS on both consoles, give or take a few frames on either side of the scale.

The first of the three game render modes will be a unlocked frame at 1080p with roughly the same graphics intensity as the original game was. This will allow the potential for 60FPS gaming on the new PlayStation Pro for Rise of the Tomb Raider, which I for one, am looking forward to!

Render mode two will be a beatified version of the game, rendered for 1080p, will be aimed at the 30FPS region, but with all the bells & whistles pushed up for a sharper experience to game graphics. The third & final render mode will be a 4k upscale mode for that 4k TV sitting in your lounge-room, however, this is not a true 4k render, but a form of 4k known as 4k Checkerboard rendering, which is basically 1080p rendered 4 times on one screen.

Lets hope that Crystal Dynamic’s can follow through with this & that we see more Dev’s do this in the coming future.
